SECTION 3: A STATEMENT ON FREE MARKET PRINCIPLES WHICH GOVERN ALL DEALINGS UNDERTAKEN BY ROWDY PARROT LIMITED AND ITS AFFILIATES, BRANDS, VENTURES, SUBSIDIARIES, DIVISIONS AND/OR BUSINESSES
The principles according to which RPL entities, including petervanderwalt.com and petervanderwaltshop.com do business with regard to slavery, oppressive regimes, large technology platforms and firms, as well as our policy of donating a percentage of our profits to worthy causes.
RPL and its associated businesses exclusively deals with wholly free market supply chains, where willing buyers and willing sellers engage in a voluntary basis on the open market. We do not use slave labour, nor do we have operations, production facilities, storage facilities, logistical hubs or any other supply chain components in oppressive and tyrannical regimes, including any theocratic or Communist countries. We avoid, wherever possible, jurisdictions or entities engaged in discriminatory practices, including so-called ‘positive discrimination’.
RPL is committed to equality and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, language, income level or cultural background. RPL also supports freedom of conscience, religion and speech – and have in the past, as well as may in the future, discontinue the use of any platforms, suppliers and/or services that do not promote free speech and equal opportunities.
RPL utilises technology platforms, including social media companies and hosting providers, but we are not beholden to any one of them, and we can end our services on any platforms with immediate effect at any time. RPL and its associated business and brands will not continue to support or use platforms that exhibit values contrary to our principles.
RPL donates a percentage of all profits derived from PeterVanDerWaltShop.Com to what we deem to be worthy causes. The principles which guide our decision making in this regard include a strong bias in favour of free markets; individual liberty and responsibility; sound ecological protection and management; secular humanist principles and free speech. RPL reserves the right to change the recipients of the donations at any time.

SECTION 4 THE DECLARATION OF MERITOCRATIC PRACTICE, (The Hiring Policy of RPL and its associated brands, businesses, profit centres and subsidiaries).
At RPL, talent is our #1 Input metric. For this reason, our team members are in actuality and reality our most important assets. Consequently, meritocracy is of crucial importance to us. All our cost savings, all our income, all our efficiencies of scale, all our potential and execution upon that potential, profits for our shareholders and benefits for the wider societies in which we operate is upstream from the calibre of people we bring on board.
For this reason we spend a lot of time and resources or hiring practices – not just in the selection process, but in onboarding, and ongoing efforts to create, sustain and grow our company culture and the atmosphere we provide to our employees, partners and colleagues. We are slow to hire, but when we do, form long, mutually beneficial relationships that often result in personal or commercial ties even after formal associations have ended. We are proud of forging relationships that last and building bridges, even if more benefit from it than just us.
It is a big deal for us to bring someone on board with our mission. We unashamedly have a permanent policy of hiring for merit and only merit. We hire only the best person for the job, seek out and demand exceptional individuals and prefer people who are better than average – in terms of intelligence, creativity and skill.
We hire individuals, and for as long as we remain in contact, treat people as individuals. Anyone hired by us can be assured that we hired them for their individual character and talent – and not as a quota, a token, a symbol, a representation of a demography or as a stereotype. We categorically reject that there is a conflict between meritocracy and diversity – as if some groups have monopoly on excellence. A hiring process based on merit will necessarily yield a result of variety, in background as well as – importantly – ideas.
As a company with a profit motive, we hire first and foremost for skills. We are open to a wide range of ideas, cultures and practices outside of that. Obviously we will not employ people who object to profit making on principle; do not share our values (including hiring meritocratically) or are at odds with our colleagues, friends and customers in Israel – as no free organisation in a free jurisdiction can be expected to accept employees hostile to its very nature and character.
This is a permanent hiring policy for all controlled entities - and extends across the board including all employees as well as shareholding. Should any jurisdiction enact laws or insist on practices contrary to this policy, we will cease doing business in those jurisdictions.
